Holy Dart Repellent

“For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence.” 

Ps 91:3

 Dear Lord, thank you that you deliver Deeper Still, and all who serve in it, from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence. I thank you that you cover this ministry team and participants with Your feathers and provide shelter in the refuge of your wings.  In Jesus' Name, Amen!

There is an enemy out there.  This enemy hates women, hates Christ followers, and hates freedom.  The Word of God says that he is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.  The weeks leading up to the retreat are prime times for the leaders in Deeper Still and the coming participants to become targets of his schemes.

This makes me think of the old Batman movie when Robin got out the "Shark Repellent Spray" and Robin said, "Holy Shark Repellent Batman!" as they defeated the shark and it left.   No, we don't have enemy repellent spray (that would be cool though!), but we have something better!  PRAYER!!  We have our shield of faith that we can hold up and quench every fiery dart of the wicked one (Ephesians 6:16)!    

We have an Advocate who is GREATER!  He is our Deliverer.  Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). The devil has to flee at the name of Jesus.  And after every fiery dart has been quenched unable to harm us, we can say "Holy Dart Repellent Batman"!   We may be a target, but we also have the repellent.

Stepping Out of the Shadows

Praying God’s Word is so powerful.  Thank you for joining us in praying God’s Word for the Deeper Still Ministry.  It is an honor to be able to pray for the God’s chosen elect to bring them out of bondage and into the light of freedom in Christ Jesus.  

Luke 1:79  To give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Thank you Lord Jesus that you give light to the Deeper Still participants who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death.  Thank you that you guide their feet into the way of peace?  In Jesus' name, Amen!

As I walked the streets of Key West at night, there were people all around us laughing and appearing to have a wonderful time.  Sin flooded the streets disguised as entertainment and the masses were blinded to the sin that snared them.  If one didn’t know any better, it would seem that sin was all fun. 

Then, I saw her.  Her silhouette is an image forever ingrained in my conscious.  It is a perfect picture of someone sitting in darkness, in the shadow of death.  A young lady was sitting in an alley behind a bar.  She was dressed in a long black summer dress.  Her knees were pulled up close to her body with her arms tightly holding her knees to her chest.  Her hands covered her eyes.  She leaned her head forward  flipping her long black hair over to cover her face.  She rocked back and forth while violently crying. 

 

Those who have had an abortion or been involved in any sin can relate to this girl sitting in the shadows.  The Lord longs to pull those in bondage to sin out into the light.  He longs to free them and guide their feet into the way of peace.  Please pray with us today for these women and men who need freedom, who need to be brought out into the light.
